Our Story
Hi, we are Michael and Tracy Tiernan. The Point at Crestone is the fruition of a little dream that started WAY back in 1997, when I (Michael here...) was studying to be a Catholic priest. They sent this wild California Jesus and Buddha lovin' boy down do a silent 30-day Ignatian retreat at the Nada Carmelite Hermitage, just down the road from here. I immediately fell in love with the mountains, the monks, the stars, the energy, and beauty of Crestone and it's varied contemplative communities. It all made perfect sense to me. It was during this trip to Crestone, and reinforced by future ones, where I discovered that I was an artist. Music poured out of me when I would visit, and I've written several albums worth of material in this sacred valley. (You can listen here if you'd like.)

Fast forward many years, after leaving the seminary, meeting my lovely Tracy, and becoming a full-time singer/songwriter, I was able to share this place and this dream with Tracy. She quickly fell in love. How could she not? We both had a sense that Crestone would be a part of our lives somehow. It has taken us a while to get here, but through a lot of hard work, dreaming, and risking, we did it. Your stay here helps us realize this dream.

This is our creative center. This is our space to connect with ourselves and our family. This is the place where we listen to our hearts, and the trees rustling outside these windows; where we gaze in awe upon the stars with our kids at night from the front deck, where we're bathed in the healing embrace of nature.
